Tax exemption & donation queries

- Yes. Swachetna Foundation is registered under Section 80G of the Income Tax Act, 1961. All donations made by Indian taxpayers are eligible for a 50% deduction from taxable income, subject to the qualifying limits prescribed under Section 80G.
- There is no minimum donation amount required to claim tax benefit. However, cash donations above ₹2,000 are not eligible for deduction under Section 80G — please donate via UPI, net banking, debit card, credit card, or cheque to claim the deduction.
- Once your donation is successfully processed, an 80G receipt is automatically generated and emailed to the registered email address you provided during the donation. You can also download your receipts any time from your donor dashboard after logging in.
- Please provide your full name (as per PAN), PAN number, complete postal address, and a valid email and mobile number. PAN is mandatory under Income Tax rules for issuing an 80G certificate.
- Yes. You can re-download all your donation receipts from the donor dashboard at any time. If you face any difficulty, please write to info@swachetna.org with your donation date and registered email — our team will resend the receipt within 2 working days.
- We accept UPI (Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm, BHIM), net banking, debit cards, credit cards, and direct NEFT/IMPS/RTGS bank transfers. Our complete bank and UPI details are available on the Donate page.
- Yes. We encourage monthly giving as it helps us plan long-term programs. You can set up a recurring donation through UPI auto-pay or by writing to info@swachetna.org for assistance in setting up a standing instruction with your bank.
- Yes. We welcome in-kind contributions such as books, clothes, food grains, medical supplies, and equipment that align with our programs. Please contact us at info@swachetna.org or +91 7709556629 before sending, so we can coordinate the logistics and confirm current needs. Please note: in-kind donations are not eligible for 80G tax exemption.
- Absolutely. While giving, you may indicate the program of your choice — Aarogyam (health), Vidyarthak (education), Annapurna (food security), Swavalamban (farmer welfare), or any active campaign. We will allocate your contribution accordingly and report on its utilization.
- Swachetna Foundation currently accepts donations only from Indian citizens and Indian-resident entities. We are in the process of obtaining FCRA (Foreign Contribution Regulation Act) registration. Once granted, we will be able to accept contributions from foreign nationals, NRIs, and overseas organizations. Please check this page for updates.
- Yes. Swachetna Foundation holds a valid CSR registration (Form CSR-1) with the Ministry of Corporate Affairs and is eligible to receive CSR contributions under Section 135 of the Companies Act, 2013. For CSR partnerships, please reach out to info@swachetna.org with your proposal.
- Yes. We treat all donor information as strictly confidential and never share, sell, or rent your data to third parties. Your details are used only to process the donation, issue a receipt, and communicate program updates if you have opted in. Please see our Privacy Policy for complete details.
- Refunds may be considered for donations made in error or duplicated transactions, provided the request reaches us within 7 days of the transaction and the 80G receipt has not yet been issued. To request a refund, email info@swachetna.org from your registered email with the transaction ID and reason. Refunds, where approved, are processed to the original payment method within 7–10 working days.
- Every contribution is directed to programs in health, education, food security, and rural livelihoods. We publish audited financial statements and annual impact reports on our website to ensure complete transparency. You can view our latest annual report under the Annual Report section.
- Yes, you may choose to remain anonymous in our public communications. However, under Indian Income Tax rules, we are required to collect your PAN and address to issue a valid 80G receipt — these details are kept strictly confidential and used only for statutory reporting.
